I chose this article to read because cyberbullying is one of the negative effects that technology is used for today. Cyberbullying is when you use an electronic device to harass, threaten, or humiliate another person. When it comes to cyberbullying, I feel that it is wrong and it is a disrespect to the victim. Also, I feel that the person who is cyberbullying the victim shows a lack of integrity. An important detail that every middle school student should know is that you can be charged with a felony for posting an online death threat. This detail is important because if a person decides to cyberbully, they could be facing a lot of consequences. Also, it's important to have middle school students know the consequences of cyberbullying. If you are being cyberbullied, pay attention to this: don't take the situation into your own hands. Save the bully's messages to use as evidence and seek an adult for help. It is very important for you to be safe both on and off the web.
ReplyDeleteI chose this article to read because it really caught my attention and I know people have gone through this. Cyber bullying is basically people bullying other people through the internet out of anger or just because they want to. I feel that people who cyber bully have no piece of mind because they use typed words instead of talking face to face. A detail that is important that Middle School students should know about is that if any person bullies over the internet, they can be tracked down and gets a felony. Anyone who’s been cyber bullied just save everything the person wrote to you or about you and show it to an adult. Another advice is to avoid ever being cyber bullied by not making anyone close to you mad and KEEP TO YOURSELF! If you don’t than your most personal secrets can be shared to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emily that people should be safe. It’s true, because who would want to go on their computer and see that one of your close friends said something not nice to you? It wouldn’t be so pretty. But, just be careful and avoid being humiliated.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the choosing of this article is because I feel that this talks to the importance of how bullying comes in all shapes and sizes.Kids that do this to other kids should know how hurtful and unbelieveable devasting that it is to the spirt of the person being bullied. To clearify, cyderbullying is when the use of cell phones, computer, and other electronics are used to intimated, and threaten others.I personally think that cyderbullying is a horrible and revulting thing that anyone can do to another person. People that willingly destory the confidence of others in that humiliatings way should feel ashamed to the fullist.
ReplyDeleteThe way that Shanice described cyder bullying as just another way for kids to hide behind things and not talk to that person face to face is cowardly,I completely agree. Something that I think thatpeolpe should know that I lefy I was that cyber bullying on line can be tracked and when cought rhat it can be a felony and ALL 50 states have these laws.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE WITH EMILY BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE WILL DO HARSH THINGS TO MAKE SOMEONE FEEL BAD. AND CHANGE UP HOW THEY LOOK AND ETC.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read this article because the title caught my attention and I wanted to know how cyberspace bullying affects other people. Cyber bullying is bullying other people with electronic devices to embarrass, threaten, and humiliate them. My feeling towards this issue is that I’m actually shocked that certain students and teenagers would go to this extent to hurt someone else’s feelings. An important detail that I think every middle school student should know about cyber bullying is that cyber bullying has driven some teens to desperation, that in the past three years 24 young people have committed suicide. This detail is important because it shows that anyone who bullies someone else doesn’t really think that what they are doing can have that much of a dramatic affect on someone else. Tips I have for anyone who may be dealing with a cyber bullying issue don’t try to shake it off. Once the cyber bullying starts go straight to a counselor or a trusted adult you know.
ReplyDeleteI chose this article because I felt the topic of cyber bullying was interesting and significant to this generation. Also I wanted to know more about it. I knew a little bit about it because of the news but I wanted to actually read it. I felt like I was going to read something that will inform/help not only me but others. Cyber bullying is a form of bullying that uses technology like phones, computer, laptops and other electronic devices to harass, threaten, and humiliate others. In my opinion cyber bullying is another disadvantage of modern technology that has for so many years entertain, inform, assist and has been a form a communication to us. It isn’t supposed to be use for violence, and harassment. Kids already suffer from bullying at school, now they have to face it online. This is the reason why I think cyber bullying needs to get more attention and should be talked about in school and in home. We need to inform students the consequences and results of cyber bullying. One of those drastic consequences is suicide, 24 teens have committed suicide because of cyber bullying. I hope overtime cyber bullying will get better, No child should take their own life because of the actions of others. I want Middle school students to know there is an escape to cyber bullying and if you do or participate in cyber bullying remember that it can be charged as a felony. So it important to think before you act or think before you cyber bully someone and to prevent suicide. A tip to students dealing with Cyber bullying issue is to tell someone whether it’s a parent, teacher counselor, etc. Furthermore take action by saving the evidence and showing the evidence to an important figure such as police. Nobody deserves to be Cyber bullied!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emily and Shanice that cyber bullying is a negative effect, so negative that 24 teens have committed suicide. Also that it’s a felony which I didn’t know until I read this article, this article does teach you a lot of information about cyber bullying.I alse agree with what Emily states in her comment that middle school students needs to know the consequences. In addition to what Shanice said about keeping to yourself, that is a key factor to not being cyber bullied yet not always keep to yourself is a good thing. It important to share your problems so others can help you. Moreover I think another important step to not being cyber bullied is to not share your password, that definitely what you should keep to yourself!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with efosa. You can't deal with cyberbullying alone. I also think people should not shake this situation off. Cyberbullying is a serious matter and the more you ignore the situation, the more the bully will harass you.
ReplyDeletei Agree with emily becuase she is right when u save the messages u got proof and not only can the person get in trouble but also go in jail or get charged with felony
ReplyDeletei agree with janet.Bullying although it comes in many different shapes and sizes it should be stop in one way.i think one ways is what janet saidby applying laws to all 50 states.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Efosa and Shanice. How can someone go to and hurt people’s feelings. Also that a cyber bully have any sense in which they are dealing with.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Demetria said in her statement. We do hear about cyberbullying in the news, but nobody rarely talks about it. Cyberbullying should be discussed in school and at home. Students should be aware about the results of cyberbullying and how they can get help if they are being cyberbullied.
ReplyDeleteI choose this article to read because I think it sound interesting. I can connect to this article by being help. Cyberspace Bullies, is about how to react to bullies and how to deal with issue that you have. Another thing is how to solve the issue. I think that Cyber Bullies help a lot of people, by reading this article. An important detail about Cyber bulling that I found was that how that you feel that there is no escape to bullies. I pick this because it shows how you might feel. Such as being threaten or harass. Like, you don’t want to tell someone about the problem. What every middle school needs to know about is that it is important to tell someone. You have to tell someone, to get help. If not, how are they supposed to know?
ReplyDeletei totally agree with emily its is a lack of intergrity. But most of all its just so people can talk trash or humiliate, etc people online acting like there tough. But sadly their not, they wont even face the person for real are say it straight to them, eye to eye.Personally I think that people who cyberbully have nothing better to do with thier lives or are to afraid to actually do something about thier anger and take it out online, because they know no one can really catch them in that moment. Also I've actually seen people on hate websites about other people. And yes people get humiliated when they put things online about them. People who do that i think really dont know what to do better in their lives than cyberbully people for the stupiest reasons.Yes people can be mad but still i just think it would be better if people took things in a more mature way then like a 6 year old thats araid to actaully act smart!
ReplyDeletei also agree with Janet cyrberbulling can be tracked and thank god for it!(in my opinion)Well, because if not it could actually ruin someones life. Maybe not to you,but some people realy get hurt. And i think just like Janet that its cowardly and stupid that people cyberbully in the first place instead of just saying it to someones face.Espacially that after they are caught cyberbuliing someone they back off and do nothing like the losers they really are!(sorry i get mad) But seriously its just stupid.NO ONE should get cyberbullied for any stupid reason.first of all its stupid, second of all its not needed and third of all if you cant actually do something and waste your time thinking your tough and big and getting somewhere by cyberbulling your wrong, because you woludnt like it if someone did something like that too you.People dont know how other people will feel, yet they should think before they react this stupidly!
ReplyDeleteI agree with both Janet and Melissa. The people who cyberbully are too scared enough to approach the person face to face. Also, you wouldn't like it if you were the one to be cyberbullied. And yes, Melissa, people who cyberbully should think before they take action.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emily, some people will not talk to their bully face to face. I also that it is very scared. How the person don't like you, you have to talk to.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with Demetria, especially when she mentions the suicides. I don’t think that any kid should take away their life because of a person who lacks both character and integrity. Cyberspace bullies are committing a felony. Something major has to change before it gets out of control.

I chose this article because it seemed very interesting. The title caught my attention very quick. As soon as i saw I just felt I had to read it as soon as possible. Cyberbullying is when a person uses an electronic such as computer, cell phone, etc. to threaten, harass,or embarrass someone. They way I feel about cyberbullying is its stupid and a very cowardly way to bother someone. Also its very cruel. I don't understand why someone would to bother or try to destroy a persons life so much. I guess they never heard of something called karma. Cyberbullying is really stupid. Annas sheriff officer had said anyone caught making online death threats could be charged with a felony. A felony is a serious crime for which punishment may include time in prison. Well if you want to be something in life and get somewhere I don't think you want to be known for having a felony. You'll be call a felon. Once they see felony your out the door. So be careful and what you say or do to hurt people. It's really not cute nor a nice thing to do. A tip for people who have been dealing with cyberbulling or are thinking about it, remember karma and its really not a good thing to do. Honestly if someone did it to you, you'll be hurt.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Janet i really do think its a very cowardly thing to do and it also can be tracked. One thing that is interesting in this article is people who are being cyberbullied are likely to be depressed and anxious more than other kids. Depression is not good for young we shouldn't even have to think about stuff like that seriously.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Demetria because cyber bullying is significant to our generation. Its very important because a lot of people our age do it now. Thats not a good look for us. Especially for negativity of that matter.
ReplyDeleteum ; i agree with demetria ,i think that cyber bullying is not the right move because how would you feele if you was bullyed and you was totally incent . if it was me i would get every possibile evidence and use it to my adventage . cause no one messes with my emotions . i thought that the 24 people that commited suicede didnt take the right move cause they just lost there life just for a bunch of imature frecks but yeah .
ReplyDeletei want to advise people to use the password system for everything they use . even if you have a bestfriend that you trust dearly ,you never know if they will back stab you & do something evil like post something negative about you . like the girl in the article she had an arguement with her bestfriend and her best friend got upset and posted mean things about her & told all her secrets .
ReplyDeleteI agree with shanice because cyberspace bullies have no type of sense. They find no other way to say what they want to say but over the internet. If you dont anything nice to say to someone on the internet GET OFF.
ReplyDeleteI chosse this article to see other resons not to be mean to people and the outcome.cyberbullying is writeing hate mail and intemadateing things to other people.this is just a wrong thing to do and serious because some people take it to heart and in danger themself or others. Then from the article i learned that most young kids that are cyberbulled are depressed more then other kids. some cyberbullies driven some teens to kill them self. In the past 3 years some did kill them self. My tip is if your being cyberbulled tell a grownup if you know who and if not don't use that site and change your e-mail adress.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emily with saying that the person who is doing the cyberbullying is in lack of integrity and is just makeing them self feel better.
ReplyDeleteI think Tianna is right about useing a password for your stuff and not giveing it to others because you never know
